Vice President Software Engineering

FirePower Systems, Inc. (acquired by Motorola, Inc.) ~1993 to 1996 ~ Menlo Park, CA

  • Founded software department for a Canon-funded personal computer company doing designs based on the PowerPC microprocessor family running Windows NT and other OSs
  • Built the entire software team, completed bring-up and volume product introduction for multiprocessor PCs
  • Worked closely with IBM, Motorola, and particularly with Microsoft
  • Delivered first multiprocessing PowerPC systems and significant multimedia innovations running Windows NT (predecessor to XP)
  • Prior positions included founding roles as a hands-on software development manager at Apollo Computer, at Prime Computer and at Stellar Computer (all in the Boston area).
